Life in Faith

The life of the church doesn't take place only on Sunday or within the walls of the church. People of Faith gather to play, to eat, to help serve others, to celebrate life's changes. On this page are some examples. You can find more pictures by following the links.

Babies, Infants, Children

There are a lot of young children at Faith, many under the age of one. Children are welcome at worship. Infants often join (in their own way) in singing and commenting on the service. There is also a room that is part of the sanctuary but screened from it where children can run around and parents can still hear and see what's happening in worship.
After worship, children can play in the playroom/nursery, which has toys and a soft floor. The nursery is separated by a low wall so that parents can keep an eye on their toddlers.

Vacation Bible School
Each summer the church sponsors a week-long neighborhood vacation Bible school. It meets in the evening so that people can attend after work.

Service

Faith runs a community meal program for people in the neighborhood who do not have enough food or no place to cook. You can learn more about Faith Kitchen and see a schedule of meals and menus here.

From time to time people gather for special projects. For example, we recently made cards to support the women in Congo who have been raped as part of the ongoing violence there.

Gathering for no special reason

People at Faith often like to hang around with each other. There is coffee hour after every Sunday service. The food varies from light snacks (both healthful and not) to full meals.

There is usually a picnic every summer by a lake.

Young adults (which make up a large majority of the church) gather monthly for some special event.

Wider Community of Faith

The Community of Faith includes two other worshipping congregations. The three congregations worship separately most of the time, but once or twice a year worship together. Together they also have great meals, participate in special programs, help at Faith Kitchen, and work on the church building and gardens.
